Marco’s Coal-Fired Pizza

Get Fired Up

Working with a first-time restaurateur to turn an abandoned furniture store into an Italian pizzeria with wood-burning pizza ovens might sound like an insurmountable task. But, we made it happen…because we were dying to eat the rustic Italian pizza.

It wasn’t without major challenges that we brought the Marco’s Coal-Fired Pizza brand to life. The old space presented many building code and structural problems. But, with tenacity and patience, an old-world pizzeria, modernized, was born. Owners Mark and Kristy Dym had an incredible passion for their project. They demanded only the highest quality, most authentic ingredients for their pizza, and wanted the same for the design of their restaurant. The color palette, detailed iron-work, exposed brick, and playful design elements reflect the level of sophistication and authenticity of Marco’s and the pride Mark and Kristy have for their brand. The space was oriented so that clientele would feel welcome to come eat or drink. The bar space and restaurant space are separate from each other, with their own personalities, yet never alienating each other – like Italian relatives. A pizzeria reflecting old-world Tuscany was created, and in a way that can be replicated in future Marco’s locations.

“Fucking awesome, I wouldn’t do a restaurant project witoudem!”
